Meet The Doctors
Dr. Thom Lokensgard
www.drlokensgard.comDr. Lokensgard, DDS, NMD, ABAAHP, is one of America’s top holistic, biological dentists with over 30 years of clinical experience. Dr. Thom treats some of the nation’s leading health professionals in his Nashville practice.
He is the author of his first book, Matters of the Mouth, along with two modules, the Oral-Rejuvenation Biological Dentistry Program and the Age-Rejuvenation Naturopathic Medicine Program, and his Age Management Guided Wellness Protocols and Life Enhancement Therapies.
Dr. Thom is featured on episode 5 of The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest; Dr. Josh Axe’s Top 50 National Functional and Integrative Medical Practitioners; A Health Awakening with Scott Laird, ND; The Highwire with Del Bigtree; as well as numerous network and radio shows, lectures, articles, and webinars.
In 1974, Dr. Lokensgard received a bachelor’s degree (Cum Laude) from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, majoring in biology with a special emphasis in biochemistry and physiology. He then studied dentistry at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1979. In 2004, he graduated with highest honors and a degree in naturopathic medicine (NMD) from Clayton College of Natural Healing and Diplomate status from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, ABAAHP.
Dr. Thom has over 30 years of clinical experience and memberships in numerous organizations. As a holistic, biological dentist, he continues to treat some of the nation’s leading health professionals. In addition, he writes and sings inspirational music and is a certified rescue scuba diver. He and his lovely wife, Jan, live in Franklin, Tennessee. They have 6 children and 11 grandchildren.

www.drdoctora.comDr. Doctora is currently in private practice in the Nashville area. He is dual boarded in oral & maxillofacial surgery and anti-aging/regenerative medicine.
He attributes this unique combination of training to his passionate interests in anti-aging medicine and maxillofacial surgery. The two specialties, although very different in their background and training, have many similarities. There are many areas where the two fields converge. He has elected to “live” in that zone.
Dr. Doctora earned his BS in physiology at Michigan State University and graduated from medical school from the University of Health Sciences School of Medicine in St. John’s, Antigua. He earned his dental degree from the University of Michigan. After Ann Arbor, he left for the warmth of South Florida where he attended the University of Miami School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital where he completed his 12-month surgery internship. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital/Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, where he remains today. He is active in the department as an attending surgeon and holds an appointment in the school of dentistry as an associate professor.
His clinical focus encompasses facial trauma, facial reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant surgery, and non-surgical rejuvenation of the aging face. He has interest in alternate treatments for rejuvenating and maintaining healthy skin through nutrition and minimally invasive procedures.
In his spare time, you’ll find Dr. Joe spending time with his children, Ella and Kai. He also loves the beach, playing poker, landscaping (or playing in dirt), and training at the gym or participating in any form of physical fitness.
